newsletter - september 2010

..and the rain it bucketed down from the sky..
long time no write to! i hope this all finds you incredibly well and rested after a glorious summer. the last week has definitely seen the summer move swiftly on to autumn bringing with it some good snuffles and thoughts of having to turn the heating on. kids just back at school (YES!!!!), so have a few more hours in the day to call my own. all is good.
so, i actually have some frames news for you! i had to wait til after the electric picnic to announce these irish shows, but, i guess theres no harm in that. i know the american shows are pretty much out there already and there will be a couple more european shows to announce towards the end of september.
everyone had a really great time at electric picnic on saturday though. what a tremendous surge of energy and love from the crowd. the lads havent played a gig for a good few years now, and id say there were a few nerves floating around the place - but - after about chord two into the set, the nerves left the stage and the smiles walked on. great festival, great day and thanks so much to anyone that was there who bouyed up the atmosphere. i hope you enjoyed it as much as we all did...still smiling a few days after the event :0)

right then. you may or may not have noticed that the frames are having a bit of an anniversary. 20 years to be precise. can you believe it? i can when i look back at old photos showing a bunch of baby faced boys with guitars, but that last 20 years seems to have just flown by. the lads have all been busy with the swell season this past few years as you know, so, when that round of strict joy touring comes to an end this october - what better (and only way really) to celebrate 20 years of this particular band being around, than to do a few gigs to mark the occasion. no plugging an album or single agenda..just going out and playing music and enjoying the vibe. we have a limited amount of time and im sorry that we cant get everywhere on this run, but, we just can't make any more days appear in november and december. we have tried, but, we just can't make those months longer....
