evening all!
so - we are rapidly approaching the end of what has been a phenomenal year and one that will definitely stay with us all for quite some time. thanks to all of you for your continued support, newbies and oldies alike. its has been - and remains to be - a rather good vibe of a 2008 all round :0)
as the kids are in bed, the animals are fed and watered and the lads are on stage in cork at this point, it seems a good time to bash out a quickie newsletter to make you all aware of the next round of activities which will effectively wind up the touring for this swell season debut record and once soundtrack.
first off, i have to ask you if you will join us in a bit of a charity gig in vicar street on the 8th december. glens mother works with people with intellectual disabilities and we are helping her to raise funds for a bus with wheelchair access so that it will mean that the folks she works with can get out and about more easily. be prepared to see a host of faces you might recognise on this night - the last of this european tour - and actually the last of 2008 (sorry - REALLY no new years eve gig!!). those that i can mention who will be getting up for a song or two are mundy, ronan o'snodaigh, liam o'maonlai, ann scott and carly sings. thats enough to be going on with on paper, and lets see how the night pans out and who else turns up. should be a good night though.. kind of an old style news years eve a little bit earlier than new years eve...
... then... we all do this thing called christmas and mightily looking forward to decking some halls and cutting the holly and icing the cake etc etc. i really cant believe that chrimbo has rolled around so quickly. i must be getting old... time really does seem to fly these days.
first gigs in 2009 for the swell season (and yes, i know this is a frames newsletter, but its the same players) - are in japan, korea and australia. very exciting to be going east and down for a change. once was huge in korea especially, and the two nights in the sejong centre are pretty much sold out already from what i understand. rather splendid too to end up this round of touring with three nights in sydney opera house too. again, i think they have pretty much all gone so if you want to go and havent read about it locally yet, get your finger out and get a ticket.

after that its back home, bit of a rest for ten days, then back to the studio in america to finish off the bunch of songs that were started a while back. should hopefully be done and dusted by end of march. after that its a long exhale and a well earned sit down on the arse for the players various.
keep warm and stay safe
